INDIA IN SAFE HANDS???

The National Flag is a symbol of the Nation's respect and pride. There is a liberal use of the flag on Independence Day and Republic day.

There is a new trend of selling flags made up of paper and plastic, which is incorrect. With a sense of national pride, people enthusiastically buy such flags but the very next day, we find these flags being trampled upon the road, in dustbins and elsewhere. In this context, people forget that they are insulting the flag. Often, these flags are burnt along with garbage. It is the duty of every individual to maintain proper respect of the National Flag.

Note: The photo is posted for creating awareness and not hurting sentiments by any mean.

Maharashtra Government had released a memorandum on 22 August 2007 which said that ‘Do not use Plastic for preparing National Flag’. This memorandum also contained the information of proper methods to raise National Flag.

Guideline for Disposal of Damaged Flag
When the Flag is in a damaged or soiled condition, it shall be destroyed as a whole in private, preferably buried for paper flags and synthetic ones recycled or by any other method consistent with the dignity of the Flag.
